Geography
When geography tracking is enabled in your snippet settings, you can learn more about how visitors from various countries experience Core Web Vitals and page speed on your website. This enables you to decide whether, for example, you should ship a lite version of your website to countries where a large percentage of the population uses relatively slow mobile phones.
To track a user's geographical data, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the settings page and select the snippet page (should be the first to open);
- Click the "Configure" button next to "Your snippet."
- Within the Advanced tab, enable the option to track the user's country.
- Save your settings.
Hovering over a country will show you the score for the selected metric, along with the number of page views and the percentage change from the previous period. You can change the metric displayed on the map by using the dropdown menu at the top of the map. Additionally, you can apply filters to reveal more detailed information about the data.
CDN locations
When you instructed us to track the CDN location, you will be able to filter on CDN location using our filters.
Additionally, you will then also be able to view CDN locations on our world map. This looks as following:
Being able to view data per CDN location will help you to:
- see differences per CDN location;
- analyze underlying causes of some of poor performing locations (lower cache hit ratio for example).
This is ideal in combination with Server Timing.
