Accountability

How can I audit user activity?

RUMvision records relevant activity within the application so authorised users can understand who accessed or changed information within their organisation.

This helps with day-to-day collaboration, troubleshooting, security reviews and internal accountability.

What activity is recorded?

Depending on the action and context, audit information can include:

  • the user who performed an action
  • the page or area of the application involved
  • what was viewed, created or changed
  • the date and time of the activity
  • the IP address associated with the activity where relevant

The exact information recorded depends on the type of event.

Who can see audit information?

Audit information is only available to users with the appropriate permissions.

Access depends on the user's role and the domains they are authorised to manage.

Why do we keep audit logs?

Audit logs help organisations:

  • understand who made a configuration change
  • investigate unexpected activity
  • review access and administrative actions
  • support internal security and compliance processes
  • maintain accountability across teams

They can also help RUMvision investigate security or support issues where necessary.

Are audit logs the same as visitor monitoring?

No. Audit logs relate to users of the RUMvision application and their activity within your account.

They are separate from the Real User Monitoring data collected from visitors to your website.

What should I do if I see unexpected activity?

If you notice an action you do not recognise, first check whether it was performed by another authorised user in your organisation.

If the activity appears suspicious, review the affected user's access, check recent login history and contact RUMvision if further investigation is needed.

How is audit data protected?

Audit information is protected through the same platform security measures that apply to other application data, including access controls, encryption, logging and restricted internal access.
