--- title: "Introduction into RUMvision dashboards (Help Center / Monitoring / Dashboards)" ai_context: "Use this article as a general introduction to the RUMvision monitoring dashboards and their main controls. It explains how to select and compare date ranges, choose Web Vitals and other metrics, navigate metric-specific sub-metrics, apply filters, and use dimensions as Group by options. Relevant for broad questions about using the dashboard, changing the analysis period, enabling or disabling date comparison, switching between metrics, finding sub-metrics, applying a dashboard filter, grouping data, understanding the counts shown in filter dropdowns, and getting started with dashboard navigation. It also explains that filter dropdown counts are sampled estimates while dashboard event counts use the full dataset. For questions about specific dashboards, individual metrics, filter types, dimensions or deeper performance analysis, prefer the dedicated help-center articles for those topics.\n" canonical: "https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/monitoring/dashboard/introduction/" --- Breadcrumbs: [Home](https://www.rumvision.com/?format=md) > [Help Center](https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/?format=md) > [Monitoring](https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/monitoring/?format=md) > [Dashboards](https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/monitoring/dashboard/?format=md) > Introduction # Introduction into RUMvision dashboards RUMvision allows you to monitor the performance of your website through [Real User Monitoring (RUM)](https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/glossary/monitoring/real-user-monitoring/?format=md). We then offer multiple panels, adjusted to our different users and roles with varying knowledge. These panels are explained in this section. ## Daterange picker Using the date picker, you can select the date ranges you want to analyse. The **Compare daterange** is shown on the left, while the date picker on the right represents the current period. RUMvision compares the current period with the selected comparison period. [![daterange-picker.png](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/daterange-picker.png)](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/daterange-picker.png) You can disable comparison by turning off the **Compare** switch in the bottom-left corner. ### Heads-up If you recently started tracking, there may not be enough historical data available for a meaningful comparison. In that case, **Compare** switch is turned off by default, but you can still enable it to compare shorter periods. ## Choosing a metric On your technical dashboard, Web Vitals metrics are listed horizontally. This allows for easy navigation across different metrics. [![metric-selector.png](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/metric-selector.png)](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/metric-selector.png) ### Heads-up Sub-metrics related to one of the Web Vitals metrics can be found in the dropdowns per metric. Submetrics that are more general or just not related to a Web Vitals metric can be found under the "Other" section. ## Filters and dimensions If you only want to analyse a specific segment, such as [Google Chrome](https://www.rumvision.com/help-center/glossary/browser/google-chrome/?format=md) users or unique pageviews, you can apply a filter from the current dashboard settings. The dropdown also shows how much data is available for each option, both as an absolute number of data points and as a percentage of the total. This can help you identify which segments contain the most data. [![dimension-filters.png](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/dimension-filters.png)](https://www.rumvision.com/file/upload/img/help-center/dashboard/dimension-filters.png) > The data point estimates shown in filter dropdowns are based on a limited sample to keep these queries efficient. The event counts shown in your dashboard use the full dataset for the selected date range. Dimensions that are available as filters can also be used as **Group by** options. ### Heads-up RUMvision initially shows the dimensions that are most relevant to the metric you are viewing. You can add additional filters at any time.
