Subscribed users

By default, notifications triggered by an alert are sent to all users associated with the domain to which the alert belongs. However, users who have opted out of alerts in their profile settings will not receive any notifications.

Specifying recipients

Sometimes, you might want to direct specific alerts to specific teams or stakeholders — for instance, sending TTFB-related alerts to your backend team while routing others to the frontend team, or limiting notifications to only technical stakeholders. Our platform makes it easy to configure this. See the screenshot below:

To customize recipients for an alert:

  1. Edit the alert and go to the "Subscribers" section.
  2. In this section, you’ll find a dropdown menu listing all potential subscribers linked to the alert’s domain.
  3. Search or select email addresses from the dropdown to add them as subscribers for that alert.

If the Subscribers field is left empty, all users associated with the domain will receive notifications for this alert (provided they haven’t disabled alerts in their profile settings).

Alternatively, you can specify individual users. When users are selected here, only those users will receive notifications for the alert.

External recipients

If you'd like to forward alerts to external recipients who are not part of the domain, you can easily do so using custom email forwarding rules or automation tools like Zapier.

These options allow you to route alert notifications to external stakeholders or systems, ensuring the right people stay informed—even outside your immediate user base.

For example, you could set up a rule in your email client to forward specific alerts or use Zapier to trigger actions like sending an alert to a Slack channel or notifying an external collaborator via email.
