Find monthly pageviews in GA4

Because your RUMvision subscription is based on the volume of monthly pageviews your website receives, you will need to find this number to pick the right plan or verify your usage.

The easiest and most common way to find your exact monthly pageview count is through Google Analytics 4 (GA4). In GA4, pageviews are simply referred to as Views.

Here is how to find this metric in just a few clicks.

Finding monthly pageviews in GA4

This guide assumes you already have a GA4 property installed and running on your website.

1. Set the correct date range

Before looking at the metrics, ensure you are viewing a full calendar month or your specific 30-day billing cycle.

  • Log in to your Google Analytics account.
  • Look at the top right corner of the screen to find the date picker.
  • Click the date range and select the complete month you want to check (e.g., June 1 - June 30), then click Apply.

2. Locate the "Views" metric

There are two quick ways to see your total monthly pageviews within the standard GA4 reports.

Option A: Via the Pages and Screens report (Recommended)

This report gives you the total count alongside a breakdown of your top pages.

  • In the left-hand sidebar, go to Reports.
  • Click on Engagement, then select Pages and screens.
  • Look at the very first column in the summary table labeled Views.
  • The bold number at the top of that column is your total pageview count for the selected time period.

Option B: Via the Events report

Since GA4 tracks pageviews as individual events, you can also see the raw count here.

  • In the left-hand sidebar, go to Reports.
  • Click on Engagement, then select Events.
  • In the table, look for the event named page_view in the Event name column.
  • Look across to the Event count column for that row. That number represents your total pageviews.

Pageviews vs. Users: What is the difference?

When checking your traffic for billing purposes, make sure you are looking at Views (pageviews) and not Users or Sessions.

  • Users: The number of unique people who visited your site.
  • Views (Pageviews): The total number of times a page was loaded. If a single user visits 4 different pages during their visit, it counts as 1 user but 4 pageviews. RUMvision tracks every single page load to measure real-user performance, which is why our plans are based on total pageviews.
