Privacy in the RUMvision application

The RUMvision application (insights.rumvision.com) is used by you and your team to manage domains, monitoring settings, reports, users and your subscription.

Unlike the visitor-level data collected by our monitoring snippet, using the RUMvision application naturally requires some personal information about the people who have an account.

We use this information to provide the application, manage access, keep accounts secure and communicate with you about the service.

What personal data can we process?

Depending on how you use RUMvision, account and application data can include:

  • your name
  • business email address
  • phone number, where provided
  • company and job information
  • account and authentication information
  • subscription and product configuration
  • domains associated with your account
  • account activity
  • communication and support history

Billing and administrative information will also be processed where needed to manage your subscription and meet our financial and legal obligations.

Your profile and avatar

Your profile information can be shown within the RUMvision application where it helps other authorised users understand who performed an action or who has access to a domain.

Where available, RUMvision can use Gravatar to display an avatar associated with your account.

Your avatar is used as profile information within the application. It does not change the permissions or data you can access.

We also process information where necessary to protect accounts, customers and the RUMvision platform against unauthorised access, abuse or fraud.

This can include:

  • login attempts
  • authentication information
  • IP addresses and technical logs
  • account activity
  • security events
  • device or browser information relevant to security
  • domain verification information

This information is used for security purposes rather than visitor-level website monitoring.

Who can see my account information?

Information about users can be visible to other authorised users where this is necessary for collaboration, access management or accountability.

For example, your name or account details may appear alongside user access settings, annotations, changes or audit information.

Access to application data is permission-based and depends on the domains and roles assigned to the user.

How do we protect account data?

RUMvision applies technical and organisational safeguards to protect application and account data.

These include encryption, restricted internal access, individual employee accounts, two-factor authentication, access reviews, security logging, vulnerability monitoring, backups and incident-response procedures.

We explain these measures in more detail in our application security articles.

What about website visitor data?

Account data in the RUMvision application is separate from the visitor-level data processed through our Real User Monitoring service.

If you want to understand what our monitoring snippet collects and how that data is handled, see our separate monitoring privacy section.
